When it makes sense
Build or buy?
Buy first. If a product you can licence does the job, I will tell you, and the audit will say so in writing. A custom tool makes sense when the work is specific to your firm, when you have tried products that did not fit, or when several systems need to be joined up in a way no single product does.
Custom does not mean heavy. The aim is the smallest tool that does the job well, on infrastructure you can understand, with documentation your team can follow.

How much does a custom AI tool cost?
From CHF 5,000. Larger or multi-step systems cost more. The scope and price are fixed before work starts, and any running costs such as hosting or licences are listed separately in the quote.
Who owns the tool when it is finished?
Ownership and licensing terms are set out in the quote before work starts, so you know exactly what you are getting.
Do we need technical staff to run it?
No. Tools are built to be run by the people who use them, and everything is documented in plain English. Optional monthly support is available if you want it.
How do you decide between a workflow and a custom tool?
A workflow automates steps between tools you already have. A custom tool is a new, small application. If a workflow will do, it is cheaper and faster, and that is what I will recommend.
